Ասում է, որ դրա համար 2 պատճառ կա. 1. չի կարծում, որ Ռուսաստանը կարող է տարիներ շարունակ պատերազմ շարունակել ռեսուրսներով/հզորությամբ, 2. Կարծում է, որ Պուտինը ի վերջո կորոշի, որ չի բխում Ռուսաստանի շահերից՝ քաղաքական/տնտեսական առումով, շարունակել պատերազմը։
